We all had a great time and were singing joyfully by the end of the evening.
Meeting Activity
We learned about the cause behind the video and the activities to create the video and to make it go viral. Everyone saw a role to play. We discussed the budget and fund-raising needs. Our group, #WAGAVOTE, has made great progress in organizing the production of We Are the Women. We have a recording studio and national level expertise for guidance in creating and editing our video(s). We also saw that WAGA can be WE ARE GREAT ALREADY!!
About the Video
The lyrics transform We Are the World to speak of the importance to democracy of women’s rights. (Yes, it is legal for our purposes under “fair use”). We shared the lyrics and the various elements of the video. In addition to vocalists volunteering their time and voices, the music video will include women from all walks of life in their “natural” settings recording parts of or the whole song using the cameras on their phones.

At the end of the Thursday get together, we took a stab at doing a first video recording of the chorus. The video will be posted in the gallery.
